IN REMEMBRANCE OF NAVY CAPTAIN CHARLES FRANK BURLINGAME, III -UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY CLASS OF 1971
9/11 Families United to Bankrupt Terrorism
Dear 9/11 Family Members and concerned friends:
In light of the tremendous outrage expressed by so many in the wake of the recent Supreme Court filing of the Obama Administration's lawyer, Solicitor General Elena Kagan, a rally in support of the Supreme Court hearing our case, and in response to the Solicitor General's filing, is planned for this coming Monday, June 8, 2009, beginning at 11 a.m., on the sidewalk before the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. For all those who are able to be in D.C. at that time, your attendance and participation is imperative. If you are able, please plan to attend. More information will follow soon.
On Friday, May 29, on behalf of the Obama Administration, the Solicitor General filed a brief in the U.S. Supreme Court recommending that the Supreme Court should find the Saudi Princes immune from being held accountable for their alleged role in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack that killed almost 3,000 Americans, and that -- notwithstanding multiple errors in the lower courts' rulings -- further review of the erroreous rulings was "unwarranted".
On Monday, we would like to gather peacefully before the Supreme Court and make our disagreement with the government's recommendation known clearly. We deserve to have our day in court and to have our case addressed using proper legal standards. Please join us in making sure our voices are heard.

Navy Captain Charles Frank Burlingame, III graduated the United States Naval Academy with the Class of 1971. Captain Burlingame went on to become a naval aviator flying F-4 Phantoms. Captain Burlingame hired on with American Airlines after his Navy retirement. He was one of the pilots of AA Flt-77 that flew into the Pentagon.
"Chic's" sister Debra had to fight with Defense Department officials to see her brother interred a Arlington National Cemetery, hallowed ground Captain Burlingame flew over just moments before his tragic death.
Thanks to Joan Swirsky for honoring me with a request to post this important plea.
