Murder confession reinstated

Man charged with shipmate's 1968 slaying

"In September 2000, LeBrun confessed to officers of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service that he had stolen $8,600 from the ship's safe and then strangled Ensign Andrew Muns, the ship's payroll officer."

JAG Hunter comment - It appears from this report that Mr. LeBrun is a civilian begging the question: Why did the NCIS interrogate a civilian (sans Miranda warnings) in September 2000 over a crime that took place in 1968?
