Through his questioning of the witnesses, civilian criminal defense attorney Mike Love clearly laid out his client's contention — that he never was advised of newly restrictive rules of engagement and that perhaps his biggest mistake was to be there when the platoon took what turned out to be a vehicle that belonged to an influential tribal ruler.
